Chrome is notoriously bad at handling RSS feeds. Add the RSS subscription extension. It adds the subscription icon to the address bar and handles the feeds. https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/nlbjncdgjeocebhnmkbbbdekmmmcbfjd
